The EU €2 handling fee from 1 November 2026
From 1 November 2026, parcels coming into the EU from outside pay a €2 handling fee for each declaration line, meaning each product type.
- Any value: it applies below and above €150.
- VAT is charged on it, at your country's rate.
- Not refunded if you send the goods back.
- Not applied to gifts between private people.
Example
A basket with a phone case, socks and a lamp has three lines. Handling fee: 3 × €2 = €6. Add the €3 duty per line (€9) and the fees reach €15 before VAT.
The same basket with three identical items is one line: €3 + €2 = €5.
